Virtual CPA Support for Online Sellers

Amazon deposits are not the whole story. Cindy knows where the rest of the numbers went.

ECommerce Accounting LLC helps online sellers turn marketplace activity, inventory, expenses, and taxes into books they can trust and decisions they can act on.

Not ordinary small-business accounting

The payout landed. That does not mean the books understood it.

A consultant sends an invoice and gets paid. A seller's money takes a longer route. Sales happen on a marketplace, fees and ad spend come out before anything moves, refunds trickle back, and a single net deposit lands in the bank.

Record only that deposit and the books show a business smaller than it is, with none of the costs that explain its margin. Add inventory bought months before it sells, a 1099-K reporting gross volume, and activity in more than one state, and ordinary bookkeeping stops telling the truth.

What sits inside one marketplace payout

  1. Gross product sales

    What customers actually paid

  2. Referral and fulfillment fees

Taken out before the money moves

  3. Advertising spend

Often charged against the same balance

  4. Refunds, returns, reimbursements

Some reduce sales, some come back later

  5. Inventory purchased

Cash spent now, cost recognized when it sells

  6. The deposit

The only number the bank statement shows

Meet Cindy

Cindy built the firm to know the business—not just process the return.

After more than 25 years in public accounting, Cindy saw how the hectic pace and large client volumes got in the way of personal service. In 2019 she founded ECommerce Accounting LLC and chose to focus on online entrepreneurs, starting with the Amazon FBA sellers whose businesses she admired.

She limits the number of clients she takes on so she can stay personally involved, and she works virtually with sellers wherever they are.

The e-commerce financial foundation

Four things every seller's books have to get right.

  1. 01

    Reconcile the Platforms

Organize payouts, fees, deposits, expenses, and sales activity so every deposit ties back to what actually sold.

  2. 02

    Account for Inventory Correctly

Connect purchases, inventory, and cost of goods sold where applicable, so margin reflects the product you shipped.

  3. 03

    Understand Real Profit and Cash

Create reports that help the owner see what the business is actually producing, and where the cash went.

  4. 04

Plan for Taxes Before Filing Season

Coordinate estimated payments, entity considerations, and year-round planning instead of April surprises.

Who the firm serves

Built first for Amazon FBA sellers.

Amazon FBA sellers are where Cindy's focus began: businesses with inventory sitting in fulfillment centers, fees deducted at the source, and payouts that never match the sales report on their own.

The firm works with e-commerce business owners more broadly, too. If you sell another way, tell Cindy how your business runs in the review request and she will tell you plainly whether she's the right fit.

Seller education

Questions sellers ask Cindy most.

All insights
Do you work with sellers outside Missouri?
Yes. ECommerce Accounting LLC is based in Fenton, Missouri, and works virtually with online sellers across the United States.
Is the Amazon deposit the same as my income?
No. A marketplace payout is what remains after fees, advertising, refunds, and other adjustments are netted out. Your books need the gross sales and each deduction recorded separately to show real profit and support your tax return.
Does a 1099-K equal my taxable income?
Not usually. A 1099-K reports gross payment volume. Fees, returns, cost of goods sold, and other expenses still have to be accounted for, which is why reconciled books matter before filing.
Can you clean up books that have fallen behind?
Yes. Cindy reviews the current books first, then confirms the cleanup or setup work needed before moving into a recurring monthly close.
How do I send documents securely?
Clients exchange documents through the firm's SmartVault client portal. Please do not send tax returns, bank details, or marketplace credentials through the website form.
